PTO VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES

Parent participation is a major factor in the success of PTO activities within our school. There are many areas on which parent involvement is needed as Room Parents, from serving refreshments at PTO functions to working the Halloween party, it is the parents who make these events so successful and so much fun. Working parents can also contribute by baking for special events, volunteering for after school activities, typing at home or by helping us to make community contact for special services, support of activities for fundraising.

TIME IS MONEY!  We know that your time is valuable so any time volunteered to a PTO sponsored function or program will qualify toward a service credit.  PTO is an investment in the future.  Forty (40) hours of volunteer times means $100.00 Credit per family on tuition at the end of the school year.

To volunteer for any of the following programs, sign up on Tuition Sunday or contact us at...... All credit hours correspond to volunteer hours.  Remember -- WE NEED YOU!

Halloween Parties

Halloween Parties are sponsored for grades K-2. Various games and activities are planned along with refreshments. Volunteers are needed to help plan, decorate, set-up and to supervise the children during the parties.

Santa's Gifts Galore

Santa's Gifts Galore is a special event, which allows students to purchase Christmas gifts for their family and friends. Volunteers are needed for inventory, set-up, clean up and to help students with selections.

Special Person's Day

On this day, St. Ann School opens its doors to all the "special people" in our students' lives. The "special people" are treated to a continental style breakfast, attend a special mass and then are escorted throughout the school and classes to understand more clearly what goes on at St. Ann School.

PTO Sponsored Hot Lunch

Volunteers help set-up, serve and clean up for special Hot Lunch Days sponsored by PTO. Pizza, hotdogs, hamburger or tacos are some of the hot lunches. Volunteers are requested to work all lunch periods on Hot Lunch Days.

Room Parent

Any parent who can contribute time for organizing and leading classroom parties, provide special holiday treats, and who will work with out parents to implement special class activities when called upon, is encouraged to volunteer to be a Room Parent.  Credit hours correspond to the number of hours volunteered.  Working parents may also volunteer since many events require sending a treat only.  All are welcome!

A Coordinating Room Parent is chosen by the teacher for each classroom and is responsible for arranging all room parent meeting to plan parties and special events (I.e. Kindergarten room parents make graduation hats,

Coordinating Room Parents from the same grade levels are expected to coordinate their efforts. Coordinators are responsible for notifying their room parents of all events and to provide them with the necessary information from the teacher. They are also responsible for getting approval from the teacher and/or principal for planned activities. The Coordinating Room Parent also notified the PTO Secretary of any illness or death in a family.

Refund Committee

Periodically, the PTO has the opportunity to raise money for St. Ann School by participating in Refund Offer Programs made available by various manufacturers. Volunteers are needed to help cut, count and bundle wrappers or labels. The Campbell Soup Label and GM Box Tops for Education Programs are two of the successful programs in which St. Ann participates.

Buddy System

The Buddy System is a program to give new families at St. Ann School a point of contact with a parent who is already established here.
